Your Worthiness Should Not Be The Hustle
Part of the issue with reaching your career goals has to do with your TRUE belief about yourself. Sure, it's easy to point towards the people who hold the power to promote you, move you up, pick you for the projects, add you to the list of those who are "chosen" for elevation; however they are making their decision based on how you project your own feelings about your skills and potential. Here is the secret .... "You are Worthy of your goals".
You don't need to prove yourself to anyone. You don't need to be affirmed as to your ability to maneuver and handle more responsibility. Your worthiness of a promotion lies solely within you. YOU have to know you are worthy. YOU have to carry yourself, move through your day knowing everything needs to be successful you already have. YOU have to know you will learn more as you grow through the journey of success but YOU are worthy enough to get through it. YOU are the one needed for: the project, the client issue, the adjustments needed, the new ideas, creating a cohesive team, determining who can do what, and how to succeed under pressure.
Brene' Brown is quoted as saying "When we spend a lifetime trying to distance ourselves from the parts of our lives that don’t fit with who we think we’re supposed to be, we stand outside of our story and hustle for our worthiness by constantly performing, perfecting, pleasing, and proving. Our sense of worthiness—that critically important piece that gives us access to love and belonging—lives inside of our story.”
Today, believe and move as if you are worthy of the _________[fill in the blank with YOUR career goal]. See how different people at work interact with you. Notice how the attention given to what you have to say. YOU are WORTHY! I can say it because you had a moment where I could see it.
