Are You Ready?

I'm sure you've heard the saying "Stay ready so you don't have to Get ready." Most of us believe we are ready. You know your personal elevator pitch. You keep your resume updated. You always leave space during the week in the evenings just in case the workday runs long. Sounds like you're ready, but are you?
If 2020 taught us anything, it is to Be Ready. Being ready is more than being ready for what you know, but being ready for what you didn't expect to happen. How do you do that when it comes to your career success? Easy. Always present yourself in the best way, whether its going to the barbershop, grocery store or spin class. As you walk through your day smile from time to time and speak kindly to every person you interact with, let them know you see them. These small acts are those of someone who is a leader, who knows who they are and has intention on where they are going.
When it comes to your weekly routine, not habit but routine, don't slack on it because Summer is upon us, keep up that routine; working out, meeting with friends, having a clean home, checking in with your doctor and therapist, reading, learning something new, keeping your network calendar. These routines are in place to ensure no matter what the day or season, you are ready to move into the next level of success.
When you Stay Ready, even on the days when you're not up to keeping your routine, you're still ready for whatever opportunities come your way. Being prepared has staying power.
