Let's Take a Peek at Your Future
Updated: Nov 5, 2020
No one in 2020 is interested in making plans for 2021. I agree, but only about the date. I believe now is a good time to make plans. However, the plans should be for now, next week, next month, the next 6 months.
Your career, just like life, doesn't stop because there is a pandemic and the economy is unsure of it's direction. Nope, life keeps moving forward and so should you. But how?
Well, your dreams have not changed, your ambition to reach your goals has not changed. What it takes, which it always took, but now more than ever is moving with intention.
To move your career forward will take planning. Not a vague sketch of where you want to be, but a definitive goal. It can change, but it can't change until one is made. Next, create a blueprint of how to navigate to reach the goal. It will take networking, career pivots, reaching beyond your comfort zone and growing your skills in places you had not thought about. It sounds daunting, but you can do it.
I'm currently reading a book by Shellye Archambeau called Unapologetically Ambitious. If you don't have a mentor and not quite sure how to get a sponsor (yes, they are different) her book can be that for you. The book is inspiring without finger pointing because you still don't have your career all together. Nope, she's here to truly get you to where you want to be. The book has no fluff to it at all. As a matter of fact, I made some significant changes to my own goals, which is now changing my blueprint and that's just from the 1st few chapters.
My goal here is not to sell you a book, but to give you some answers; solid answers. Right now, there is no time to waste trying to figure it out. The time of "taking your time" is over. Instead of binge watching another series devote time to setting a concrete career goal, and mapping out your blue print to get there. I'll help you as much as possible, but YOU have to do the real work. I KNOW YOU can do it!
