The Definition of Insanity
We all know the definition of insanity is repeating the same actions expecting a different outcome. So why don't you apply this thought process to looking for a new job?
If you've been applying consistently through job search boards, and not being called for an interview, then maybe it's time to stop applying through job boards. It could be your resume format, but it could also be the endless tunnel you throw your resume into.
Growing your career is not easy. The same focus and intention you use at work everyday is what it will take for you to get another job/higher position/change careers/make more money. You have to invest the time to gain the benefits.
Decide the type of position you are looking for.
Make a list of 5 to 10 companies you'd like to work for.
Go to the company's website and explore.
Apply directly to the company from the website.
Every week repeat steps 1 thru 4.
It will mean you have to miss episodes of your favorite show. You'll have to google highlights of the game the day after. Even though you're vaccinated and go out every weekend, there may be some weekends you miss. If this is your goal, then it will take some level of sacrifice on your part.
Getting a job is easy, but building a career one position at a time takes work. You're future is waiting. Go get that interview!
